Hi, I'm Tayyib.

MSc CS student @ UAlberta (AMII) · Founding member of WarpShift · previously built agentic AI pipelines at Cowlar (YC W17). I explore optimized distributed training for LLMs, interpretable ECG/EEG diagnostics, and robust numerical optimization for scaling neural systems.

Based in Edmonton · Open to remote collabs

Currently

• Student Researcher @ University of Alberta / AMII — building diagnostic + prognostic ECG models with semantic explanations.
• Founding Member @ WarpShift — shipping agentic AI co-pilots for distributed teams.
• ex-MLE @ Cowlar & Cowlar Venture Studio — led PR review agents, recruiting automation, and voice interfaces that cut cycle time by 80%+.

  • Optimized distributed training + inference for LLMs that need to live on constrained hardware.
  • Prototype-based ECG/EEG models that stay interpretable for clinicians.
  • Mentor students who want to mix research with production impact.

Research Spotlight · QuickFormer

QuickFormer rethinks the standard transformer with quick attention, boosters, and feeblers — trimming time and space complexity from quadratic to linear while staying competitive on generation benchmarks.

Built for practical deployment on resource-constrained devices.

Research Interests

Optimized distributed training of LLMs · numerical optimization · efficient + interpretable neural architectures · diagnostic & prognostic DL models for ECG/EEG · reinforcement learning · agentic AI systems that can be trusted in production.

I also sketch, design, and occasionally play guitar when I need to reset my brain.
